I have been looking for a chocolate raised doughnut recipe. The doughnut I remember as a child, we used to call a chocolate Bismarck. It a chocolate raised doughnut with chocolate glaze and has a white vanilla cream filling! The filling recipe you have here sounds like the filling! but the doughnut I'm thinking of is a round chocolate doughnut, chocolate glaze and its filled with crème not a pudding or custard! Does anyone one know the doughnut I'm talking about? And does anyone have a recipe they could share for it? All I know know is they are wonderful! and we called them Chocolate Bismarks. Please help! I so badly want to make them at home for a Sunday breakfast.

I found this recipe in your blog this time last year when I was doing a search for none other than german chocolate cheesecake. It definitely appeared to be a daunting task, and I was nervous! Took me two whole days to get it done, but it was well worth it!

I made it for my love's birthday last year and he was in heaven! So much so that for the last couple of weeks hes been dropping hints about it! So today I am off to the store to get the ingredients I'm missing, only this time, I'm going to make it into two smaller cakes..
one for now and freeze one for later!

This thing is a beast ( I swear last years weighed a good ten pounds if not more!)! Anyway, thanks so much for putting this out there!

Oh, and the cheesecake recipe is the best! I've used this recipe multiple times over the past year with a variety of different toppings and crusts and every time it is heavenly!!

I'm looking for the recipe for the creme filling for the Long Johns sold from the Quality
Bakery in Ann Arbor, MI. I swear, it tasted like it had sweetened condensed milk. It wasn't the fluffy great fillling that your recipe makes...it had a yellow tint...
Thanks

I just found this website looking for Rio Zape beans. I had similar problems with my Walla Wallas- and it turned out to be due to symphylans, which are a real problem here in Oregon. I'm not sure from this blog where you live, but you might look them up and see if that is a possibility for you.
Also if you haven't checked out this site you should:

Oh, I'm so glad I found this recipe! My husband and I just relocated from Hawaii to Western New York. We're surrounded by grapes every which way you look - including a farm that surrounds our backyard.

Today I took my cousin's son cherry picking off the gorgeous big sour cherry tree in the back yard. As we were contemplating how good Grandma's cherry pies were going to be thanks to our sweet haul - we started trying to plan what we could make come fall when the grapes are ready.

I've been researching grape pie recipes all evening, and your's not only sounds devine - but actually gets into some of the differences in grape variety. I can't wait to try my hand at baking with grapes, I've never done it before. I'm pinning this one for sure though =)

French Onion soup is a favorite of ours when the sniffles hit our house. I too have a strong dislike for soggy bread, even the melted cheese is a turn off for me. My answer is a fantastic grilled cheese sandwich (rustic bread and 4 cheeses) on the side...mmmm...delish!!

Apparently raw almonds are now being pasteurized with jet fuel and they don't have to label it. *sigh* http://wholenewmom.com/health-concerns/autism/almonds-health-salmonella-food-pasteurizatio/ I also would want to be able to make my own almond milk using soaked (and non-PPO) raw nuts, which requires a real blender, so until I have something bigger than a Magic Bullet to use here, nut milks are on hold. The Magic Bullet does hemp milk pretty well though, and I'm hoping to write up something about that soon. :)
